Akumal Arts Festival & Residency is a community based, global initiative. The vision is to bring a fiesta of art to Akumal pueblo through an international consortium of artists making art, engaging community, enhancing and beautifying the town for locals and our many worldwide visitors.
Since the beginning of the Akumal Arts Festival in 2018, it has been as much an action verb as an event. The Akumal Cultural Foundation is a product of the festival partnership with Hekab Be Biblioteca, a US 501(c)3 non-profit. Together, our teams continue to actively initiate projects within the Akumal community.
